A beautiful Devon village in the South Hams
Our village
Village Hall
South Pool Village Hall is managed by an enthusiastic committee who organise regular village events such as BBQ’s, coffee mornings, pub nights and skittles. The hall is available for anyone to rent for events and they also offer the rental of marques, tables, chairs, crockery etc. for events.
Parish Council
The South Pool Parish Council consists of seven members and meets on a monthly basis. The public are welcome to attend meetings where there is 15 minutes given to public participation.
Church of St Nicholas and St Cyriac
The 13th century Church of St Nicholas and St Cyriac holds regular services and other events. The Parochial Church Council meets on a monthly basis to facilitate its continued running.
Tide times in South Pool
Below are tide times and heights for the Salcombe and Kingsbridge estuary in which South Pool Creek resides. Keep an eye on the tides if visiting us by boat. The amount of water in the creek is dependent on the height of the tide and the atmospheric conditions. For example on a large tide (over 5.0m) you will be able to access the deepest part of the pontoon for around 3 hours either side of high tide. On a low tide (less than 4.3m) you will have enough water on the end of the pontoon for only 1-1.5 hours either side of high tide. Keep an eye on the time!
